    Words and Pictures

I was really looking forward to seeing this film as I usually love Fred Schepisi's films, and I am a huge fan of both Clive Owen and Juliette Binoche. I really wanted to like this film, but I didn't. It is more like a TV movie of the week than a theatrical release. This is a disappointing film in terms of Fred Schepisi's usually masterful direction and choice of material, as well as the considerable talent of the actors. The only thing I found sort of interesting was the theme of art/passion and painting techniques. I should have waited to see this film on an airplane or on TV.
