Angel-A is a surprising treat. Rie Rasmussen as the angel is a stunner... The perfect counterpoint to Marcel's anima, which she mirrors gracefully. The black and white treatment creates an atmosphere that sets Paris apart, like a statue in shade reflecting sunlight at the tips of a spear. There are several scenes of emotional intimacy between Angela and her charge that bear great truths earnestly and intensely. I enjoyed the film more than I thought I would... Go in a reflective mood if you can, and let the parable enfold you in its wings.
