Ho Hum. More CGI antics for cinephiles without imagination, and actors without presence. The interesting concept of alienation, so central to the mutant theme, is largely undeveloped in this testosterone coctail. The vignettes of war service over the last 120 years were intriguing, and could have made an engaging plot if they had been developed. Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber wolf-down the animus-shadow conflict with gusto, but are completely undone by Danny Houston as Col. Stryker, whose strident, wooden and inept performance simply turns the feral chemistry into self-parody. Lynn Collins plays an interesting hand as Wolverine's love, about the only worthy plot element. Go see it without expectations. Better yet. Buy the comic.
