Astoundingly vulgar and incredibly funny (so your Shadow will be gratified on both counts) Swift would appreciate the wicked edge of Cohen's cultural satire - even in this low-brow era. And there is something for every tribe to resent. Afro-American's will hate being reminded of the celebrity tokenism of 'Save the Children' black-pedigree adoption. Trailer-Park-trash conservatives will hate the depiction of Murkan's as rigid, primitive, dumb, sexually obsessed and gun-toting. Narcissistic Hollywood and fashion elites will hate the lampooning of their superficiality. Even mainstream gays will hate the reinforcement of the anima-possessed analism of the 'Flamer' stereotype. Only boundary-travelling Liberals will feel at home watching this film. They'll love the send-up of repressed religous/zealots in their unctious desire to save and convert gays to macho-Christian-heterosexuality. If only salvation/liberation was a simple function of invoking devotional mood or rote belief - and here almost all tribal moods and beliefs are skewered, their grotesqueness as over-exposed as Bruno's wiggling phallus.
