I thought it was gonna be like the mangy Witch project but thank goodness this was way better. Suspenseful and worth seeing. Always earn some basic language before traveling total advantage... You'll know why...

A letdown overall. The landscape and story line could have been developed more, and more intellegent dialogue could have been added. Could have used more explanation of how the creatures were developed. Adult language and gore, childhood fears plot. Super cheesy ending.

Neat idea but that's about it. The whole movie could be summed up in a line or two and there just isn't enough going on to make it worth your time. Never really felt unsure as to what would happen and spent the entire movie thinking that I could care less about these cliched characters.
| 4/10 | parker_2@ - 296 reviews 25.6.2012 - age: 36-49 |
This movie was terrible. The backdrop and setting were really great. The story itself was not well developed. The entire story contridicts itself. The special effects were lacking. It was just bad. I would serious consider waiting to see this so you can turn the TV off without feeling guility about he coin you dropped paying for this disappointment.

Don't go into this expecting Citizen Kane and you'll like it. It's a cheesy horror movie plain and simple, but sometimes that's just what the doctor ordered.
| 10/10 | jgmclean@ - 7 reviews 20.6.2012 - age: 18-25 |
Movie guy says it's a winner. But leave before the ending because it was too scary...
| 7/10 | movieguyb.s.@ - 2 reviews 15.6.2012 - age: 18-25 |
It was a very suspenseful movie but the ending was disappointing.
| 7/10 | dynamitespring@ - 33 reviews 12.6.2012 - age: 50+ |
It was ok. The story was a little slow and I liked it that way. Had some jumps and the ending was nice to me. The creatures totally sucked and the last 30 minutes were precipitated.
| 6/10 | kevinw@ - 55 reviews 10.6.2012 - age: 13-17 |
I hated this movie so much because it had great potential, but the overall payoff was lame and the lack of sexuality bothered me.
| 2/10 | devo-nc@ - 24 reviews 9.6.2012 - age: 13-17 |
I expected more from this due to the way it was promoted. It looked like it had potential, but fell short for me.
| 6/10 | ditiberia@ - 81 reviews 7.6.2012 - age: 36-49 |
It was actually a great movie. Very under rated. Go see ittt!!!

Not good, don't even bother watching it on tv if it ever gets there. Suspense was okay.

Thought this movie had a lot of great 'hide behind your hand' moments! Good atmosphere to it, would recommend you have a look!

If you like to be scared, see this one - some really great scary moments.

I'm a huge fan of horror films and thrillers, this one is not a good film really, I was expecting way more from it and never happened.
| 2/10 | jaguar-soul@ - 49 reviews 6.6.2012 - age: 26-35 |
I found the movie quite interesting. Kept my attention during the entire time. Certain points in the movie were predictable, but overall a good movie. I'd recommend it.

The reviews were so bad, that I almost talked my 12 year old son out of seeing it. He's a horror movie buff, leaning towards zombies and post-apocalyptic stories. I'm glad we saw it! It won't win an Oscar, but it was entertaining. Having back-packed through Europe, the Ukraine setting reminded me of many places I explored in the 80's. And the opportunity to explore an abandoned city... adventure tourism... I would be all over that (visiting Chernobyl is on my bucket list) The setting and characters felt authentic (their guide "Uri" was great) If you've ever spent a few months as a vagabond in your youth... you'll get this movie. But yes, I agree with some of the other posts... dragged a bit near the end... the first 3/4 of the movie is definitely the most entertaining.

Suspenseful movie. Some good scary parts. I was surprised I liked it also.
| 7/10 | flywiz1@ - 25 reviews 3.6.2012 - age: 36-49 |
It was pretty good. Not necessarily the best horror I've seen, but a good movie for the cheap theaters.
| 7/10 | myersgerbil9@ - 2 reviews 2.6.2012 - age: 13-17 |
Good movie. I liked it. Some scary parts. I don't get why there is all the hate to it but yeah I liked it and worth seeing.
| 8/10 | ragingmark12@ - first review 2.6.2012 - age: 13-17 |
Great movie had good scares but the ending needed to suit the movie.
| 9/10 | c.fernandez1999@ - 4 reviews 1.6.2012 - age: 13-17 |
I thought the ending was fitting, not a lot of other people did though.

Can't believe this garbage got picked up by a releasing company... don't see this movie, for your wallets sake.

Pretty good movie. Great storyline and some good scares. Some pretty awesome footage of Pripyat. Definitely worth a watch. Enjoy :)

Bad movie. Bad ending. Singer Jessie McCartney and real life his gf appeared in the movie, but ridiculous from beginning to end. Terrible ending. I wouldn't waste my money to see it if I were u. Trust me.

Mix between Will Smith movie and Blair Witch. Good idea but plot not rich enough.
| 6/10 | bkaine@ - first review 29.5.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Did anyone who wrote this story have half a brain? No one can still walk around the Chernobyl site without radioactive protection... Very Very Unbelievable!!

Acting was terrible but they made it look much better than it did in the actual trailers. Camera work wasn't that great. Overall an entertaining and scary movie.
| 7/10 | chillipepper65@ - 2 reviews 29.5.2012 - age: 13-17 |
Brutal, had a terrible ending, and in general was not worth the time or money.
| 3/10 | natalie3@ - first review 29.5.2012 - age: 18-25 |
I liked the movie for about 3/4 then I knew exactly what the ending was and was very disappointed. Movie did have some good scares but overall could be way better.
| 6/10 | kevinwandrew@ - 81 reviews 29.5.2012 - age: 18-25 |
I liked this movie. It's disturbing, dark and depressing, but it offers exactly what is advertised - a horror movie. The ending felt a bit rush, but overall, I liked it.
| 7/10 | tina_avon@ - 13 reviews 28.5.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Crappy movie, storyline is weak, script is poorly written, and cast can't act.
| 1/10 | kfd880@ - 3 reviews 28.5.2012 - age: 18-25 |
This movie was a complete waste of money. There was potential with a unique concept, but the excecution was terrible. There weren't even any scary parts, it was just confusing and aggrivating to watch and try to decipher once the credits rolled. This was one of the worst movies that I have seen in a long time.
| 2/10 | sheebs5@ - first review 28.5.2012 - age: 18-25 |
It could have a fantastic conspiracy story but instead decided to focus entirely on making you jump every 3 minutes. Very disappointing.
| 3/10 | chase4787@ - first review 28.5.2012 - age: 13-17 |
Amazing atmosphere, not bad acting. But could and should have ended better. No idea why people say this is a found footage movie. It's not.
| 6/10 | hentai_jin@ - first review 27.5.2012 - age: 36-49 |
The movie is actually quite amazing, it transports you to another universe "The chernobyl one" parts of it were filmed in the town of the Chernobyl. And as usual, Hollywood did the rest. But they did a very good job for the atmosphere.
| 8/10 | f.poirier@ - first review 27.5.2012 - age: 13-17 |
I found this interesting right from the start. Lots of jump scares in this sucker! One of the best horror movies that's been out in a while. Not perfect but I'm not regretting shelling out my money on this either, check it out!
| 7/10 | lark@ - first review 27.5.2012 - age: 36-49 |
This was actually pretty good. I've seen a ton of horror flicks and this one goes almost 90% of the way through before it goes a little over the top. However, I did jump twice (and I don't jump at horror flicks) I was almost tempted to give it a higher rating. If there was 1/2 points ratings I would have gone to 7.5. Good for what it is. I wish people that don't like horror shows would either quit going, or at least quit rating them...

I had high expectations for this movie after Paranormal Activity. It could have been better, it lacked a good storyline, few scares but nothing amazing.

Just interesting enough to hold my attention hopefully for something better to happen. The idea of having mutated animals or even people existing after the Chenobyl disaster was believable but the movie never took advantage of that fact to produce anything scary looking to make this movie better then it is. A pack of normal looking dogs chasing the victims was very lame and could happen in your local park and when there was an appearance of "deformed" humans, it was shown at such a distance or in the dark to have any effect. They should have gone all out to produce a very scary looking mutated creature to give some punch to this movie. Too lame for me.

This was a lot better than expected and it was very creepy and suspenseful.

One of the worse movies I've ever seen - I thought it would be good based on the trailers, how wrong and disappointed I was. Wasn't even scary, just ridiculous. Skip this one or if you must see it, wait for a netflix or satellite rental...
| 2/10 | brelaf2@ - 10 reviews 26.5.2012 - age: 26-35 |
I sat alone in the theater for this movie, does that tell you anything. Horrible story line and the suspense was terrible. This is a rental, not worth the money...
| 4/10 | cboucher@ - first review 26.5.2012 - age: 26-35 |
Shaky scenes. Predictable story line. Half of the movie was shot in the dark. Do not waste your money.

It was really creepy and with the location it gave a really scary atmosphere to the story and I love Russia so if you're a big fan of horror movies go see it know.

Just got back from watching this movie. I love scary movies in the theater. The big screen, its dark and loud, can't get better than that. This was a great movie. I give it 9/10 for creativity. Overall great acting with a lot of funny lines. Now the scary parts. Pretty good. I don't get really scared anymore with these movies but I keep going to see them hoping for one to scare me. This one wasn't scary for me. I did have a lot of fun watching it and rolling along with the story. The persons I was with barely could watch the screen at times lol so they thought it was really scary. Good movie and good story. Worth seeing in the theater.
