This was not what I expected but it was disturbing and twisted in so many ways. There's meaning to all of this craziness but still I found it hard to not finish this show.

It was a great movie, the acting was great and the storyline was also really good. But the only thing I didn't like was the sexual part a bit too much. But other than that I'd say go see it, it's a really good movie.

It reminded me too much of American Psycho and I hated American Psycho. It becomes too much of a debate between what is supposed to be real and what is supposed to be fake. I would blame a lack of vision from the director. Unlike a Shutter Island or Sixth Sense where you can go back and clearly decipher it.

Predicatable, like a lot of other movies kind of show. Don't see why Natalie Portman got an award for this film.

Amazing movie, kept me at the edge of my seat the whole way through. Both Mila and Natalie were brilliant.

This is a MASTERPIECE!!! Anyone that didn't LOVE this movie should go back to watching TV. This is truly a movie for people with intelligence. Natalie Portman deserved her Oscar for her performance, truly magnificent! What beauty what grace what sexuality... Can't beat this movie! Flock to see this one! The music, the actors, the ambiance, the tension, the story, the OBSESSION!!! MAGNIFICO!!! BRAVO BRAVO!!!

It's a movie that you watch like you read a poem. Natalie's acting is superb. She is lost in the role.

Natalie Portman is as always very convincing in an interesting and challenging role. The movie itself is certainly on the unpleasant and bizarre side. Worth seeing but fairly unspectacular.

Fantastic flick. A pinnacle for Aronofsky and Portman both.

I quite enjoyed this movie - the acting was fabulous and Natalie Portman definitely deserved the Oscar. One thing to note - definitely not for young adults. There are some sexual scenes and violence. A must see.

Great tension, fantastic acting from Natalie Portman, plot moves that kept me guessing, erotic in places, artistic throughout.

Visually beautiful and well paced, but so boring in the end. Writer cherry picked so many themes and motifs for effect and dramatic overplay: sexual repression, parental dominance, lesbianism, aggressive male sexuality, self-mutilation. It was formulaic, but not real, true-to-life for me. And the ending was SO over-the-top.

If you watch this movie; you have to be willing to watch every detail; such as color scheme of each scene, music, lighting and dialogue. Each and every detail constructs the story and adds to the main theme. If you take this movie on face value; it's not that great and is really long. But if you understand every subtelty, you will realize the greatness of the movie.

Another great film by Darren Aronofsky. While don't expect to be completely mind-blown like the last 20 minutes of Requiem for a Dream, expect the same sort of impressive movie-art to his work in this one. And if you don't mind delving into a bit of absurdity then you can digest parts of the movie. If not, it'll just seem like a bizarre movie. As well, while the movie wasn't the most engaging throughout, it did setup some pretty cool scenes as well as a pretty poetic ending. The directing was perhaps not as psychologically engaging in terms of the protagonists drive to insanity as one would have liked, but it was perhaps graceful and understated, in line with the ballet them. Great watch.

First of all if you're looking for a movie that is all about dancing like Step Up or Dirty Dancing this is not the movie for you. This movie is a thriller and has drama keeping you at the edge of your seat. Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis did a superb job! I recommend it!

Not a huge fan of Aranofsky but he did a wonderfull job on this one. Portman rocks. Of course the die hard dancers will say it's full of flaws but since it's actually a movie about mental illness, who cares if it's not dead on. Highly recommended!!!

Even though the acting was very good! It was a little too good! I guess I must be a prude, but forgive me if I do not want to see sex acts in a great performance. I thought it was very tasteless and anyone who doesn't want to watch soft porn better not go see this movie either...

This is not about the story, it is about what the story makes you feel. It is not about ballet, it about what the writer and the director an extraordinary interpretation of this ballet master piece. This movie is not about insanity, it is about our fears, our emotions taken to the limit. It is visceral, it is you from within.

Not a good movie - don't waste your money. It doesn't give any insight into the ballet world, nor (I doubt) into the mind of someone who suffers from mental illness. Natalie Portman's acting is good, especially condidering that she did the dancing, but not Oscar worthy. Her character was much too obvious - good acting is much harder in a more complex, nuanced character.

REALLY good. Natalie Portman portrayed the role beautifully- the oscar was well deserved!! The dancing was sublime as well... I thought that Natalie Portman used a stunt double, but the dancing was ALL HER, which really is amazing! The story line was haunting and disturbing, yet in a way that celebrates the genre instead of scars you. Most of the story could be interpreted in several different ways... it was very psychologically challenging, which was entertaining and kept the movie interesting. The sexual scenes... well, I think they could have been a little less drastic. Besides that, however, the movie was one of the best I have seen in quite a while... it had no holes, it wasn't missing anything- it was completely solid. I really liked it, and I would recommend it to anyone who can handle slightly creepy movies, and is a little on the mature side of things (not like, a 5 year old!!) Super good.

Wanted to wait til she won the Oscar for Best Actress... what can I say, I think the Academy spoke for me on Sunday when they gave the much deserved Natalie Portman the Oscar. How can someone walk away from this movie and say that the performance from her wasn't spot on, loved her since her early stuff, right through to Vendetta and now she comes back and gives us by far her best performance yet. And then there was Aronofsky, can wait for The Wolverine now, who you can tell put his heart and soul into this picture as well. Overall a great movie, with thrills mixed right in there.

Really boring... for the first time ever in a movie I found myself checking my emails a number of times, I mean a LOT... I know, lets just make a movie that has a poor story line and then throw in some bizarre phsyco shots to jazz it up, make it more interesting, bearable... Not...

I did not like it... like a lot of people commented: lots of sex, hard to tell the difference between reallity and halucitations. Overall complicated movie. Not a lot of dancing... and whatever dancing movie does have, it's not great anyways... I wouldn't recommend it.

This movie was really well done, and Portman did an outstanding acting job. I did find the plot slightly disappointing and a little slow moving, but the directing and acting was so good that I was able to look over it. This is a great movie who everyone who has the chance should see, as long as you can handle a bit of promiscuity.

Went to see this movie cuz of the oscar buzz! Natalie Portman was a so so actress in this... she really didn't learn ballet from the waist down because all the shots of her footwork were just of her feet and was definitely a professional dancer not her! And all the full shots of Natalie were from far away so that was for sure a professional dancer as well. Now knowing quite a bit of ballet this movie was not that good. The storyline was wierd and confusing. Really didn't like it much. Not sure Natalie deserves an oscar for this let alone even a nomination!!!
