The main idea is very interesting, but not developed enough. However, there is a good level of action that saves this sci-fi movie.

The storyline was good but the acting was weak.
| 6/10 | keeponsmiling@ - 13 reviews 11.2.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Clever use of the "time is money" maxim. Justin Timberlake does an admirable job as lead in this sci-fi flick. The protagonist/antagonist axis is well executed but I can't elaborate without spoiling the plot driven movie. Suffice it to say it is worth checking out.

The movie could've been made better... but I loved the concept! I loved Cillian Murphy!!! He was just amazing!!.. I sure hope that one day (in thousands of years) that our future will work like that and that people will have learned to enjoy the time they have and spend and invest it wisely... And finaly we will have a world with no poor people... That's a future worth dreaming and hoping for!!!

It was amazing! A really good touching, exciting, suspenseful movie.
| 9/10 | themorningstar@ - first review 19.1.2012 - age: 13-17 |
A low budget sci-fi flick, at least it looks that way. Inconsistent acting and a story full of holes. Some parts are quite entertaining. It could be a good rental, but that's about it.

Okay, but really could have been better, interesting concept.

That was a great movie! The cash switched by time... That's a great idea! What I like in this movie is, the producer has a great idea in their hand and they use it well. They make a good mix of action and talking part. I like the effect of a clock in the arm of everybody, that's cool. But the acting is a little bit bad, but I think they probably want to make more action than other thing. This movie make me realize the actual society, we have the rich and the poor. Most of the time, the rich give no money to poor people. So, it's a great movie, good idea but the acting is low. Thanks!

It was good, don't get me wrong, but I expected a little more. Worth seeing at least once.

Neat idea but that's about it. When Timberlake's character is told the "secret" it's a major "duh" moment. It might make you appreciate your time a little more, so for that I'd say give it a go if the idea interests you at all.

Good movie... Makes you think if money was not the world’s driving force what could have been.. Good acting...

This movie did not disappoint. From beginning to end. Fantastic entertaining movie.
| 10/10 | tshaft@ - 2 reviews 3.12.2011 - age: 36-49 |
I really liked the concept of the movie. This alone made it worth seeing.
| 7/10 | drtraceywillis@ - 5 reviews 30.11.2011 - age: 36-49 |
BOMB! Easily the worst movie of the year. The premise seemed interesting and I was looking forward to see the movie. Really, after you figure out the whole time as currency premise, there is not a lot to go for. The movie looks cheap, the screenplay is wafer thin and the acting goes along with it. Avoid at all costs, not even on DVD.

Pretty goof interesting love/ action triangle :)
| 8/10 | amberkiana@ - first review 28.11.2011 - age: 13-17 |
The concept is very cool, but the overall execution is a missed oppurtunity. At many points in the film I felt a possible outburst of raw emotion, but never reaches the human heart. Everything comes across as vague and inconclusive, and it's shame. I did enjoy this movie, I just wished it would have given me more.
| 6/10 | dem15@ - 4 reviews 27.11.2011 - age: 13-17 |
This was actually quite entertaining. Very good political undertone to this movie. The idea that time is currency is a very interesting premise. The acting was also passable.

What Daniel said :) It's been a while that someone's made a movie that is such an accurate reflection of life. Inspirational to say the least.

A unique concept kinda like a modern day Bonnie & Clyde that comes to mind. Lovely to see pay phones again. Goes to show that by the TIME we get to that point in future you can still rely on these gadgets.

| 9/10 | lizzie-xo@ - first review 22.11.2011 - age: 18-25 |
I absolutely loved Justin in that movie! The whole idea of it is very original. I couldn't get my eyes of the screen. Great entertainment for men and women! You have to watch "In Time"; makes you realize how much our time is precious in life! =)
| 9/10 | marilyn.boucher@ - 8 reviews 21.11.2011 - age: 26-35 |
It's a quasi-retro future where time is currency, nobody ages, nobody uses cell phones and everyone drives around in 70's cars that are mostly black and silver. There are some arm wrestle showdowns to steal time, and plenty of Bourne Identity type getaways when the hero is in trouble. The premise held my attention for half the movie, so I'll give it a five. I had a hard time understanding this concept really. A lot of pay phones in this future. What happened to cell phones?
| 5/10 | mechlin@ - 30 reviews 21.11.2011 - age: 36-49 |
The first part of the movie is very interesting but before long it becomes a conventional chase. It seems the movie wants the answer instead of concentrating in the question.
| 6/10 | luciano.santos@ - 46 reviews 20.11.2011 - age: 36-49 |
Overall very good movie, makes you think. Acting might have been the weakest part of this movie but if you're a fan of "thinking" movies you'll enjoy this one.
| 8/10 | j189@ - 2 reviews 20.11.2011 - age: 18-25 |
I liked this movie a lot, the message it sends, the star studded cast, and the movie's good blend of storytelling, action, and comedy. The thing that surprised me the most is that I really enjoyed Justin Timberlake's portrayal of Will Salace (hope I am spelling that right), yeah "Mr I'm bringing sexy back" as an action hero. I had my doubts but he really came through in the end. Great performances from Amanda Seyfried, Cillian Murphy, and Olivia Wilde. Excellent movie a must see.
| 8/10 | ducksrule@ - 217 reviews 20.11.2011 - age: 18-25 |
I don't know the technical attributes of what a good movie should contain. I just appreciate the message it delivers. To some people, this movie is fictional, to others, it is reality. A literal translation of what really is going on in our society.
| 7/10 | micajieuvelasco@ - first review 19.11.2011 - age: 26-35 |
This movie was pretty well done. A different take on a "Bonnie and Clyde" style movie. It was uniquely done and well paced. Not a bad movie.
| 7/10 | katmanking@ - 8 reviews 19.11.2011 - age: 26-35 |
I love these so called movie critics who give this movie a bad review, it was a great movie, nowadays if it's not a Hollywood block buster it is just not a good movie, pretty sad, this will be another classic like "Equilibrium", go watch it.
| 9/10 | jose@ - first review 19.11.2011 - age: 36-49 |
Was at first reluctant to see Timberlake, but he did well and his acting was credible, although weak dialogue. Story was timely, picking up on the themes of social justice and equality. Perhaps less of a science fiction film than an action-driven, engaging glimpse of how 99% today could become 99.9% before we know it. Time well spent!
| 7/10 | brigaldino.5542@ - 2 reviews 18.11.2011 - age: 50+ |
It was one the best movies I have ever seen. But the swears and using God's name in vain.
| 8/10 | kimmy852@ - 44 reviews 18.11.2011 - age: 18-25 |
Original, well paced and thought provoking. Certainly not a genre for everyone, with the sci-fi undertones, but at the heart of the story is a great message on how we spend our time, or don't...
| 8/10 | leegielen@ - 17 reviews 18.11.2011 - age: 26-35 |
This is actually the first film this year that I went to see twice. Not only is the concept of the film highly intriguing, but the moral tenor of the film resonates highly with much of the sentiment around the world nowadays concerning the disparities between rich/poor. I was also impressed with J. Timberlake: this was a role that gave him some depth as a budding actor, and I sure hope he pursues meaningful scripts rather than ridiculous comedies like Friends with Benefits and Bad Teacher (two very awful movies) All in all, In Time is a dark film with a message of hope and resilience. It may not be the best acted film of the decade, but it certainly has much potential and is certainly far better than 95% of what's out there now and what's been released this year so far.
| 8/10 | adil_socialtheory@ - 31 reviews 16.11.2011 - age: 26-35 |
Loved it!! JT's acting is really believable. And the concept itself is priceless.
| 9/10 | christian_child2k@ - first review 16.11.2011 - age: 26-35 |
Very poor movie full of clichés. The concept is really nice but never developped to its potential. It feels as if the movie had been made without any form of subtlety. The first few minutes make you think that this is going to be a good movie. After that, you can forget about the concept, it is just a movie about some guy fighting against a system. Very shallow, don’t expect any form of creation or questioning about the world we are living in. Like a short movie with pretty long scenes. I wish somebody would remake this movie with actual thoughts put into it.

A very interesting movie. In the future, people don't age as they may buy time. Justin Timberlake was great in this film. I would recommend seeing this one as the concept it portrayed was really neat.
| 8/10 | hboroditsky@ - 21 reviews 16.11.2011 - age: 50+ |
Outstanding concept but badly executed. Some real bombs in the dialogue and some particularly stilted performances. Still, Cillian Murphy (the villainous timekeeper) puts in his usual masterful performance, and Timberlake doesn't give an awful performance. My reaction at the end was 'that had early moments where it verged on greatness' a la Blade Runner, but in the end it stayed in the predictable muck.
| 6/10 | acchaladka@ - 26 reviews 15.11.2011 - age: 36-49 |
The acting was horrendous, I rolled my eyes countless times and J T's attempt at acting. The plot however was amazing, and the movie was very interesting. Definitely worth the money.
| 7/10 | karmap0lice@ - 3 reviews 15.11.2011 - age: 18-25 |
I can't believe this film has such a high rating. Maybe people are letting the concept float their ratings but in reality a film should be rated (partly) on how well the concept was put over and this is just a failure on so many levels. I felt like I was watching a film written by a 12 year old and directed by his/her younger brother/sister. Seriously, a great concept ruined by poor filmmaking.

Keeps you thinking right up to the end. Good Acting. Enjoy. I pray God will come before mankind ever implement this type of rule. I realize it is Sci-fi but the Greed of mankind is very real. Just look back in World History. Thanks.

Given the mixed reviews I wasn't expecting anything more than a nice distraction but was pleasantly surprised. Some very powerful scenes and a great parallel to the motivation behind 'Occupy Wall Street', only here, the stakes are higher.

Lol... we arrived at the movies with no clue what to see and this won the rock, paper scissors contest... outside of the fact that I personally find some fascination with the concept, this movie is an unmitigated disaster. From the not-so-subtle ridiculous political message, to the unbelievably bad script and direction (a brilliant actor would be hard-pressed to deliver a reasonable performance with this script), to the fact that Timberlake makes Adam Sandler seem like an Oscar-calibre actor, there is nothing redeeming about this movie... well, it will give you something to laugh about at the office the next day :)

| 8/10 | ttb@ - 2 reviews 12.11.2011 - age: 13-17 |
Good for the first ten minutes and then terrible for the rest of the movie. Bad plot. Half the time I couldn't decide whether it was a comedy or a drama. A ton of horrible cliche lines using the word "time." Overall painful to watch.

Interesting plot, good story altogether. Maybe not a LOTR or Harry potter level movie, but good none the less. The concept that time could be currency was frightening and exciting.
