A very, very different take on a police procedural and a superb character study of two complex men. It moves at a deliberate pace, so patience is required. But it is beautifully executed in three brilliant acts and gorgeously photographed, too. If you have the patience for it, this is a masterpiece, and easily the best movie that I saw last year (it screened at TIFF)
