Simply the best western ever made. It's very long, but never boring. The cowboys are dirty, ugly and one would guess by looking at them smelly. Our unknown cowboy is one scary piece of business and his counterparts are perfect variations of very different kinds of villains. Fantastic storytelling, brilliant directing, perfectly suited soundtrack. Just the best. On my bookshelf in my collection of great westerns, this one sits dead center, surrounded by Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More.
