This movie is inspired by the true story of a man who plotted to crash a plane into the White House back in the 1970's. This could explain why Sean Penn was not nominated for best actor as his performance should go down in the record books as the best performance of the year and possible the last 30 years. Sean Penn is without a doubt the greatest actor of his generation (just think I AM SAM, DEAD MAN WALKING, MYSTIC RIVER to name but a few) and I understand why there was a full page article on his performance in the newspaper criticizing the oscar voters for not including this in their selection. The movie itself is not amazing and this small independent movie would work as a 4 person play. Anyone studying acting should watch this movie but then again it may make them choose another profession. SEAN PENN's performance is a 10 out of 10 but the movie itself is so-so.
