My wife wanted to see this really badly as the preview was funny she said. I told her that it looked okay and that there was a lot of hype. I was also cautious because it is after all a 'Homegrown' product. My wife responded with 'It's attitudes like that which keeps our films from being seen.' We go to see it and my wife may have laughed 1x and I think it was because I farted. The movie is based on an idea. Unfortunately the idea is never given time to florish. The opportunity to make a funny film could have been there. There could have been separatist jokes, poutine jokes, culture jokes, workaholic Ontario jokes, chicken nests oh I mean pot holes, where is the 9th Pie? Oh you mean Pie IX, checké mon bike etc etc…. so many and yet none. It turns into a poor version of Lethal Weapon with a Canadian budget. I unfortunately won the argument on why I was reluctant to see a homegrown movie. It makes for a good rental but at full price c'est pas a bon deal..
